A Fantastic Figment of Fungi: by david woje

These fabulous, fungi are freshly full of fervour, as well as a fun form of being fruitfully fertile, festively funky and sometimes fundamentally faulty for being futile.

Our fellow flimsy fungi are no farce for floundering their familiarity to fulfill, they can be the first to finish a friendly feeling of forbidden fantasy. Though we forebode their fragility and their forlorned existence being frightfully fatal, these fungi are freakishly fortunate of occasionally flaunting felicity.

Whether you know it or not, mushrooms have been a source for medicinal wellness and general immunity through multiple cultures for millennia. So why are they so great? Part of the answer is:

Beta Glucans

What are they?

Beta Glucans are sugars found in the cell walls of bacteria, yeasts, algae, lichens, and in this case, BG’s are present in the fruiting body of fungi, or mushrooms.

What do they do?

Primarily beta glucans are great for the immune system. They actually stimulate the “Natural Killer” Cells or (NK) cells. These NK cells are responsible for attacking all kinds of infections in the immune system (from common colds to HIV).

Most people with autoimmune, or inflammation problems can benefit from these Natural Killer Enhancers. The healthcare system actually administers beta glucans into cancer patients’ IV. However anyone who has conditions like eczema, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, Lyme disease, and other autoimmune diseases can benefit from beta glucans as well.

An example that helped me understand what beta glucans do is like beta glucans bearing Samuel L Jackson’s face as he’s saying “Say What One More Time..” as he’s beating up Human Immunodeficiency, or giving his Oscar winning death glare to rheumatoid arthritis.

But mushrooms are the conduit in which Beta Glucans are distributed. Here’s a couple of examples of the mushrooms in Mushroom Defense Mix by MyNutra:

King Trumpet

These mushroom contain amino acids and antioxidants.
Ergothioneine (a type of antioxidant that these mushrooms are known for) is stored in the liver and kidneys to help reduce chronic disease. These mushroom also have lovaststin, which has been studied to lower cholesterol.

Cordyceps

Perhaps the most fascinating fungi familiar to frightening facts indeed the Fungi: Cordyceps. These are a class or genus of fungi that actually grow on the larva of insects. When the fungi invade their hosts, they replace the insects tissue and sprout out slender stems that grow outside the host’s body.

As cruel as this seems, I just remind myself of the hoard of fruit flies attacking my produce in the kitchen for the past month and I’m suddenly ok with the fungi’s futile familiarity with it’s hosts.

The BENEFITS of taking Cordyceps

⁃ May Boost Exercise Performance
⁃ Has Anti-Age Properties
⁃ Potential Anti Tumor Effects
⁃ May Help Type 2 Diabetes
⁃ May Benefit Heart Health
⁃ May Help Fight Inflammation

This may be the most popular amongst our fungi friends as far as health benefits and anti inflammation properties.

Found in hot and humid climates in Asia, this has been used in Eastern medicinal for a long time. A few benefits are:

Also more commonly known as an Agaricus Mushroom. These kinds of mushrooms are commonly good for:

Lion’s Mane

As you can see, there’s a repeating theme here between all these benefits in the mushrooms that reside in Mushroom Defense Mix. Some may see redundancy, but I say, “the more the merrier.” I also see a synergistic army of mushrooms attacking the siege that may have taken the immune system at a ransom.

If you have made it this far in the article, you’re in luck! HERE you can be directed to a more sane review of MyNutra’s Mushroom Defense Mix, and even put it in your shopping cart if that tickles your fancy.
